Auction Terms
Last updated: October 2026
These Auction Terms govern bidding on pieces offered through Loramics (“Loramics,” the “Studio,” “we” or “us”), the ceramics studio of the artist Lorelei. By placing a bid you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not bid.
1. What we sell
Every lot is a single, one-of-a-kind, handmade ceramic piece made and sold by the Studio itself. Loramics is the seller of its own work — it is not a marketplace or agent for third-party sellers. Colors, dimensions and finish are described as accurately as possible; because each piece is hand-thrown and hand-glazed, slight natural variation is part of the work.
2. Placing a bid
- To bid you provide your name, email address and bid amount. You confirm you are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract.
- A bid must meet or exceed the displayed minimum (the current price plus the lot’s increment).
- A bid is a binding offer to purchase that piece at your bid amount if you are the winning bidder when the auction closes. Bids cannot normally be retracted.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. Please bid carefully.
3. How an auction closes
- Each lot shows a live countdown. When the timer reaches zero, the highest valid bid wins.
- Anti-snipe extension: a bid placed in the final minutes extends the closing time by a short, equal period, so every bidder has a fair chance to respond.
- Reserve: some lots may carry a minimum (reserve) price. If the reserve is not met, the Studio may choose not to sell the piece.
4. Payment & delivery
- The Studio will email the winner to confirm the total, payment method, and shipping or pickup arrangements.
- Shipping costs, timing and any applicable taxes are confirmed with the winner before payment. Pieces are carefully packed; the Studio is not responsible for carrier delays.
- Because each piece is a one-of-a-kind handmade item made to be sold once, returns are handled case-by-case by the Studio. Pieces that arrive damaged in transit should be reported with photos within 48 hours of delivery.
5. The Studio’s rights
- We may reject or cancel a bid, withdraw or relist a lot, or correct an obvious listing error (for example, a mistaken price) at any time before a sale is completed.
- We may refuse service to any bidder, including for suspected fraud, non-payment history, or abuse of the site.
6. Disclaimers & liability
The site and auctions are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Loramics is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and any liability relating to a piece is limited to the amount paid for that piece.
7. Governing law & changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the Studio is established. We may update these terms; the version posted here at the time you bid applies to that bid.
